Things humanity could do without religion

I often see the argument posed by theists, and some atheists, that humanity somehow requires religion to keep from imploding on itself, and taking away religion would lead to widespread chaos and eventually doomsday. 

I tend to strongly disagree. 

This is a list of ways I think humanity could very likely be better off without religion now (specifically the Abrahamic religions and others with similar doctrines), supported by evidence I've come across.

We as human beings all want the good things of this life but not willing to pay the price for the good things in this life. We all hope to be saved by an imaginary judeo-christian or Arabia or Africa God in times of trouble such as now. But I tell you that salvation will not come because we’ve refused to accept reality and chose to delude ourselves in an imaginary world that exists not,for true salvation of the common man he needs to plan properly for his survival in this hard times because if you don’t plan you plan to fail.
